Abstract
In the article, the influence of the mass moment of inertia and the longitudinal force on the frequency spectrum of free transverse vibrations of a straight homogeneous rod is evaluated analytically and by the spline method of algebraic polynomials of the fifth degree. Using high-precision numerical calculations, it is shown that in a rod whose length significantly exceeds the transverse dimensions, when calculating the frequency spectrum of free oscillations, the influence of the mass moment of inertia can be ignored, and the longitudinal force has a noticeable effect only on lower frequencies.
